The morning after Thanksgiving alarms will ring early, beckoning the truly thrifty out of their warm beds. Bargain hunters will weave a line around Best Buy, Wal-Mart, and Macy’s. Hopefully, the rush won’t cause more than a few bumps and bruises. Such is the nature of Black Friday.
If post-Thanksgiving extreme shopping doesn’t sound appealing, we suggest an alternative. Why not shop this Friday at your local Annie Sloan retailer (aka stockist) instead?
Today, Friday, Nov. 21, marks #AnnieSloanLate, a special shopping day for enthusiasts of Chalk Paint® decorative paint by Annie Sloan. It’s an initiative among all of the stockists around the world to keep their doors open late on Friday and share a little extra holiday cheer. Shop owners will give extra Chalk Paint demonstrations and tips for painting furniture, as well as raffles and giveaways for shoppers to enjoy as they peruse the other home accessories and creative wares also on sale. The best part? Each store will also be raising funds for charities. Per Annie’s request, these will be specifically charities that work to improve the lives of children.
Retailers in the UK are supporting one of Annie’s favorite charities, the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. In Ireland, they are staying open late for the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation, which helps families with sick children secure in-home care, and in South Africa, the chosen charity, Hearts of Hope, provides safe homes to vulnerable children. US stockists are working with a number of charities, including St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Sharing and Caring Hands, and the Children’s Cancer Connection.
Find your neighborhood stockist at Annie Sloan Unfolded. And if you’re new to the world of Chalk Paint, and unsure what you might find on this evening shopping venture, browse our Projects page to see several of the US retailers and the work they’ve done.
